A few folks have spotted a cougar hanging around recently. I saw a cougar in the Ranch in December and there have been other reports recently. Be careful, especially with kids around dawn and dusk.

New Pierce County Code for short term rentals
In September 2016, Pierce County implemented new regulations for short term rentals. Short term rentals are defined as any property rental of less than 30 days. This was aimed primarily at properties being rented through AirBNB, VRBO, etc.
These regulations can be found in the Pierce County Code, Chapter 18A.37.040B
The CVHA Board believes that the best course of action with a homeowner who has an issue with another homeowner involving short term rentals, is to talk directly with that homeowner. They can then discuss their concerns and resolve the issue between themselves. As a final resort, homeowners can then contact Pierce County directly to lodge a complaint. CVHA has no authority to regulate any of these rentals but is willing to facilitate homeowners in order to resolve their differences.

Dr. Evan Wood
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that one our former, long time residents, Dr. Evan Woods, has passed away.
He and his family lived in the Crystal Village 2 neighborhood for well over 25 years. Dr. Woods practiced dentistry in Enumclaw for 35
years. He had many patients from Greenwater reclining in the chair during that time. He will be missed as greatly as he was loved and respected.
Crystal Village HOA would like to to extend our deepest condolences to the Woods family.
Memorial service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Enumclaw Field House (Pete’s Pool).”

PSE power switching
PSE has issued the following notice to our community:
In an ongoing effort to deliver safe and reliable energy to you and your neighbors, Puget Sound Energy will install a new switch at the Clay Creek substation.
In order to do this work safely, it’s necessary to take the line out-of-service for approximately 36 hours. To avoid your power going out, we will transfer your electric service to the generator at Crystal Mountain so the work should be invisible to you. There may be a momentary outage as your power is switched from the line to the generator at around 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 19.
There is a remote chance your power could go out for a longer period due to the configuration of the generator. While we don’t anticipate this, we do want you to know of the possibility and be aware of the outage date and time.
Outage details (customer power will be provided by generator)
Outage area: Greenwater to Crystal Mountain
Date: Wednesday and Thursday, October 19 and 20
Estimated outage duration: Approx. 36 hours
To occur between: 7 a.m. October 19 and 7 p.m. on October 20
We are proud to serve in your community and aim to complete the work with no disruption of service to you. If you have any concerns or questions, please call 1-888-404-8773 or email majorprojects@pse.com.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to complete this project.
Sincerely,
Kelly Purnell, PSE Project Manager
